Parents/Guardians as Sexuality Educators is a small group to help you feel more comfortable talking about sexuality-related topics and improve your skills in sharing accurate and current information with your teen.
Who can attend? Parents/guardians from the UUCUC congregation and members of the community who want support around sexuality education and to learn effective communication skills. While sessions are held at the same time as the spring OWL classes, attendees do not have to have their children currently registered for OWL classes to participate.
Class Schedule
After the first two sessions (Hopes/Concerns for Teens' Sexual Health and How Do We Talk About Sex?), the group will decide which topics they want to explore for the remaining sessions. Topics include: gender identity, sexual orientation, relationships, sexual health, decision making, consent, social media, pornography, unintended pregnancy, and ethical non-monogamy.
Attendance at all sessions is not required. You are welcome to come to as many sessions as you are able.
